Dusit Davao welcomes Chinese New Year

Welcoming the Year of the Tiger at dusitD2 Davao

dusitD2 Davao and Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort welcome the Year of the Water Tiger with an intimate celebration and a delectable feast.

A simultaneous celebration took place in the dusitD2 Davao and Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort in Davao De Oro in welcoming the Year of the Water Tiger. This symbolism of an abundant commemoration to usher in prosperity was shared among a few media, industry partners and hotel and resort guests.

In a message from General Manager Christoph Kuch, he said, “In our own little way here in Dusit, we’d like to welcome this with valuable partners and our guests. We wish you and your loved ones a bountiful year ahead, and we hope with you that days will continue to be brighter and better.” The hotel and resort properties continue to implement the Dusit Care initiative stringently, ensuring the health and safety of its clients and employees.

The celebration was highlighted through rituals as the offering of fruits to the lions, throwing of coins for good fortune and returns, distribution of ang paos as tokens of good wishes and the lion and dragon dance by the Davao Lion Dancers Association to drive away bad or evil spirits and usher in good luck and blessings for the community. These were spearheaded by GM Christoph Kuch, Cluster DOSM Lannie Merilo, the ExCom of Dusit Davao, and the heads of departments. Guests were able to participate in these Chinese rituals as well.

The Chinese New Year spread were filled with generous delights from appetizers to desserts.
