Create your story with CWC Interiors

The newly-opened Davao CWC Interiors flagship store in Matina IT Park

It’s that unique piece that pops up in your space. Is it art? Is it furniture? It can be both.

While collectors have invested in art to liven up their personal spaces (and in turn their disposition, because that’s what art does—bring joy) while beautifying it, taste and preferences are evolving.

There is a growing market who are turning their gaze towards functional art. Now, part of the investment includes vintage pieces like mid-century furniture, articles that swing in the directions of art and utility. And, like any interesting piece, it adds character to the space and can spark a conversation.

“The love for mid-century furniture starts with one piece. Then watch how your love for the piece grows,” said Agnes Sauler, CWC International’s VP for Sales & Marketing.

While hunting for authentic mid-century furniture can be tough, Davao can be thankful that CWC Interiors can now fill the void for unique and timeless designer pieces.

CWC stands for Create, Work, Collaborate, it’s a home-grown company that thinks global and acts local. A company that puts faith in the importance of evolution and partnerships. In its multi-brand stores, it carries an array of high-quality interior and architectural furnishing products for interior architecture in the corporate, hospitality and home industry. What sets the company apart from others is that each CWC item has a story. Each piece has a history.

Recently, the Davao CWC Interiors Mindanao flagship store in Matina IT Park along MacArthur Highway was inaugurated. The showroom features the collection of the iconic mid-century furniture CWC is known to carry; Herman Miller, Vitra, Lasvit, Walter Knoll, Bolon, Lodes, Magis, JEB and Mohawk.

If you’re coveting that Eames lounge chair and ottoman you’ve seen on the silver and small screens, then this is the place to have a closer look at it, melt into it and say yes to taking home the icon.

Iconic. The Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman

Look around, there are more pieces to drool over. If you believe in the “eyes on the prize” mantra, forget about it. There will be distractions, plenty of it! Those Eames and Panton chairs, or that Cosm office chair you can’t detach from when you sit on it, the playful Marshmallow sofa by George Nelson and Paul Smith, or the Oriental-ish Nelson lamp you suddenly need. The showroom, after all, is a cornucopia of iconic products. Resist if you can.

Why open now with the end of the pandemic nowhere in sight?

“We wanted to open in 2020. It may be the pandemic period but we knew it was timely. Davao is ready for CWC and home improvements and the creation of home offices were at its peak. But due to the lockdown restrictions, logistics was difficult. Well, the long wait is over, CWC is here now,” said Jasper Huang, business development manager.

Whether it’s the home or the office, improvement is never ending. Your space is sacred just as it should be comfortable. It should be pleasing to the eyes and senses. It should ignite inspiration and creativity. Like art, it takes one CWC iconic piece for a story to come into fruition. Maybe it’s time to start your first chapter now.

On opening night, Fred Yuson led a toast, “CWC is on a 12-branch expansion roll-out in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Tonight, CWC is putting Davao on the map of furniture that’s aspirational, affordable and available.” To that, everyone raised their glasses.
