May 2015 musings: All about style

THE month was all about style—on sand, stage, screen and spread. It was superb! Here’s a roundup of what transpired on the month dedicated to mothers and I must add, the period that brought forth the May flabs.

Step to Aloha-land with Havaianas

It was that time of the year again when the stylish flip flop brand encourages you can style your own pair of Havaianas. With the selection is the season’s limited edition style- a tropical print that’s so Hawaii.

MYOH 2015 Limited Edition pair brought Hawaii to Davao, but if you bought one, you earned a shot to go to Hawaii.

If you got one, then I wish you all the luck because Havaianas did not just bring Aloha land to the country, but they’ll take a couple of lucky Havanianaticos to Hawaii, if they win the promotion.

Sand, sun, sea & surf at Movenpick

Here’s a good spot to wear your new Havaianas—Movenpick. It’s a very hip and happening five-star seaside hotel that offers fresh and modern hospitality in island of Mactan. Enjoy the stretch of white sand, watch the sunset at their signature outlet-the Ibiza Beach Club- and feast on the Churrasco while watching a fabulous show. Do not forget to have as many scoops of Movenpick ice cream as you can, it’s worth the calorie intake.

Style Origins on the ramp

It’s the annual fashion event that tours around the Ayala Mall nationwide. At Abreeza Mall, more than 40 mall merchants took part in the event. Highlighting the show were the Davao mom and kid pairs sporting their look for the season. Celebrity guests Andi Eigenmann and daughter Ellie, was the show’s finale.

Spread-ing oishi

Coming home from a weekend of wining and dining in the Queen City, I was greeted with “Itadakimasu”. I won’t decline (and never will). SEDA Hotels, through its chef exchange program, flew in SedaNuvali’s Executive Sous Chef Danny Gallardo to share his Japanese cuisine expertise to the Dabawenyos.

For a week during the Japanese Food Fest, fans of the cuisine made Misto in SEDA Abreeza their regular dining place. I don’t blame them, I would do if time allowed me to. Ending the festival was the guest chef’s buffet offering, a showcase of oishi food, which included my personal pick—the Ebi Tempura that used prawns- not baby prawns, not even shrimps.

Soar on screen with the eagle in new style

The country’s national bird is flapping its wings with glee with the foundation’s upgrade on its website. The more engaging channel will surely get more visitors and foster parents connected and aid in the specie’s preservation.

Philippine Eagle Foundation recently launched its new website at the Marco Polo Davao Hotel. A photo exhibition by the Camera Club of Davao highlights the majestic bird of prey

The new website of the Philippine Eagle Foundation http://www.philippineeaglefoundation.orgwas recently launched at the Marco Polo Davao Hotel. Co-presenting the affair was the Davao Camera Club who exhibited a most impressive collection of photographs of the mighty bird of prey.
