Where: Marco Polo grand ballroom
Theme: Kitchen party
It’s the first of the three grand parties for Aoife. The next big parties will be celebrated when she turns seven and 18.
The celebrant was too cute dressed in a pale purple floral baby dress that matched with with elder sister and mom’s garbs.

For her first birthday, the Marco Polo Grand Ballroom was turned into one stylish kitchen with a slew of “chefs” manning the whole scene. Just like running their kitchen kingdom, the men and women toques took command of the photo booth, the welcoming, hosting and the entertaining.
It’s been a while since I attended children’s party. No need to explain why. But there are few occasions that an invitation reaches me. I can’t decline to a graciously extended one.
Parties today are no longer what it used to. It’s grander. And with the posh set-ups, like this party, I expect the attendees to come in their children’s party best, mom and dad included. It was a good time for style spotting.
So what do the adults wear to a ballroom party for a one-year old?
It was a mix of relaxed fashion and chic get-ups. However, it’s the accessories that give can make the total look a head turner.

That mom's dress with a play on colors of the classic houndstooth pattern |
I zoomed in to a few eye-catching (and even surprising) articles of fashion that I don’t see too often (or maybe I should go out more).
That mom's pair of Fendi |
That LV bag on its throne |
That burst of color from a Rags to Riches clutch to match the blue & white garb |
That mom's playful Zara slip-ons |
That dad's play on rugged & luxury with Hermes croc strap belt on denim |
That Sophia Webster pair brings sexy back on denim |
That chic mix & match of South Sea pearls with Argento del Salvador in silver & oxydized silver |
How often do I encounter as stylish dad? This one certainly does know how to enjoy the fruits of his hard work.
It was a great party. The kids were ecstatic, so was I.
