The Finalists: 2023 Habi Kadayawan Luxe Wear Apparel & Fashion Accessories Design Competition

"MindaNOW and Beyond" is the theme for the 2023 Habi Kadayawan Luxe Wear Apparel and Fashion Accessories Design Competition. The competition, a segment of the annual Kadayawan Festival, returns on the festival's slate this year after a pandemic-caused hiatus. Expect the rise of new talents from all corners of Mindanao.

In this year's edition of Habi Kadayawan, the Davao City Tourism Operations Office and the Kadayawan Committee introduces exciting modifications to the competition criteria:

- The Fashion Accessory subcategories is inclusive and will include the "Community Category" wherein
Indigenous People (IP) and emerging cottage industry groups can participate.

- The Youth Category is back, and will include finalists from Fashion and Design-related schools and youth members endorsed by their respective Local Government Units.

- The Commercial Category is expanded from professional designers to include freelancers and hobbyists who have started their fashion accessory businesses online or onsite platforms.

"With the revival of Habi Kadayawan, fashion enthusiasts and industry insiders can look forward to a spectacular showcase of Mindanao's rich traditions and cultural heritage interpreted in innovative, contemporary designs," said the organizers.
