Davao’s favorite Pinoy comfort food is now served in a mall. Rekado, a home-grown brand popular for its Filipino comfort cuisine, opened its second branch at the SM City Davao Expansion Wing.

“On the menu are still the well-loved dishes whipped up from heritage recipes served in a new venue that’s more accessible to the dining public,” shared 2nd generation owner and Executive Chef Pauline Benedicto-Malilin.

Just like feel-good dishes, the look of the new outlet embraces the warmth of a traditional Filipino home— but with a twist, as it successfully marries touches of Mindanao in its design. A wall of handwoven t’nalak fabrics presents a beautiful Mindanao tableau complementing the Pinoy classics of solihiya weaves, graphic floor tiles and countryside mural.
The new 98-seating Rekado dining hall is the first mall venture of established restaurateurs, the Benedictos, who also operate a number of free-standing specialty restaurants across Davao City, including Golden Brown, Patok sa Manok and Mr. & Mrs. B.
