Basti's Brew Durian Cake.
It's what came out of the coffee shop's oven for the 2011 Kadayawan season. Four layers of butter cake with durian spiked icing spread in between layer, and a final frosting, light in consistency and sweet with the distinctive flavor of durian, envelopes the cake.
Best served and enjoyed straight from the chiller, a slice can be a bit heavy and can be perfect for sharing over coffee or tea, but knowing my capacity to indulgence, I can finish a serving in a jiffy (and I did).
I love it.
