Drumbeating Hijos de Davao’s golden year

The Hijos de Davao is turning 50 this year and everyone involved in the mounting of the coming golden year celebration of this socio-civic foundation are hard at work.

From a social gathering of settlers in the city during its founding, the Hijos de Davao has evolved to a more worthwhile club—a foundation that involves the growing members of the club that focuses in preserving and promoting cultural heritage of the Dabawenyos while building a stronger community through its social and civic projects that uplifts the living standards and education of the people who needs it most.

During the 49th celebration, newly inducted Hijos de Davao president, Jackie Garcia-Dizon said, “My thrust is to welcome the new blood, the younger generation into the organization’s framework, and encourage everyone, the members and even those who, in the past decades, chose Davao to be their new home to join the family of Hijos de Davao. We will make sure that the 50th year and the coming years of Hijos de Davao will be memorable.” Everyone sprang into action and joined the president in planning a line-up of projects and events that will drumbeat the coming big event.
