“I know what you’re going to do this summer,” said the travel agent.

QUICK! You have until today to confess to your dear confidant where you want to go this summer or even beyond the “most heated” days of the year.

The first travel fair of the year, the Davao Mega Travel Sale, ends today at the Abreeza Mall

Who else will know what you’re going to do on your next trip but your ever-reliable travel agent. They’re the bunch you seek help from when you’re heading to a dream destination for the first or nth time. The recommended list of must-do’s will come from these professionals, which will guarantee you a most memorable trip at a cost that won’t put a hole in your pocket.

Next on the travel list of Brenda Cabang is Australia. Here with her travel agent & DTAA president, Jesyl dela Cruz.

The first of the major travel fairs in the city kicked off early this year at Abreeza Mall—the Davao Mega Travel Sale. Spearheaded by the Davao Travel Agencies Association, the event is offering travel packages to both local and international destinations at the best, if not lowest, prices. Let’s just put it this way—it’s that irresistible that you won’t get any second thoughts on taking out that credit card and have it swiped.

Tourism industry partners & leaders: Ivan Cortez, Consul Abdullah Zawawi Tahir of Malaysia, Susabel Reta, Gene Bangayan, CTO Lisette Marques, Consul Logeng Priyohanesetyo, Baby Montemayor, Jesyl dela Cruz, Dina Garcia, Councilor Ryan Alejandre, DOT XI RD Robby Alabado & Ish Tan.

And speaking of credit cards, if you happen to have one from BPI then you’re in luck. Silk Air and Singapore Airlines offer a six-months, zero interest payment scheme to all its members. With this deal, your trip is signed and sealed. This offer puts Singapore and these carriers on the top of the best sellers on this event. I envy you, not only are you getting a good deal but riding on these airlines is always an experience. Their service is impeccable that they consistently awarded as the best airlines in the world.

All smiles. Silk Air & Singapore Airlines are the top-selling carriers of this event with their 6 months, 0% interest credit card offer to all BPI, Globe Blue cardholders.

Low cost carrier, Cebu Pacific, is always a partner on these trade events, so is Cathay Pacific, which is offering a good deal to Japan via Hong Kong. Sakura here I come! Let me add that both these airlines use Terminal 3 in Manila, and that makes for a convenient connection to your final destination.

Taking their positions prominently in the forefront is the Malaysia’s Truly Asia booth, a participant that never misses a travel show in the city. Assistant Tourism Attache, TreceyTojuka, said the Johor Premium Outlet and Legoland are favorites among the Filipinos but is pushing for the travelers to visit the other exciting destinations of the country.

Experience F1, Legoland & more in Malaysia says the Tourism Malaysia team- Katrina Bianca Tamayo, Trecey Tojuka & Mark Kenneth Camama.

Be a fan of Malaysia's destinations.

Thailand makes a debut in the Davao travel fair. SawasdeeKhap! This is one of my favorite countries in the region, which I visit regularly. What I have to say about this nation is this: the culture is rich, Bangkok is vibrant but the numerous destinations off the capital city are as exciting, the shopping is the best, and the cuisine is superb. To tour Thailand and enjoy its myriad of offerings is very (very) affordable.

Amazing Thailand making its debut in the Davao travel fair. Mandy Mañaga & Len Rivera invites the travelers to travel to the Land Smiles.

The first day high gathered the eager travelers who wanted to make sure they get a seat on plane to their destination at a good deal. I bumped into people who have marked their destinations for the year and shared it—Amanpulo, Batanes, Bangkok, Singapore and cross to Malaysian, Japan and Australia, to as far as Jerusalem, Las Vegas and New York.

It’s Las Vegas for Gilbert & Mercedes Cauilan

It’s Jerusalem for Mae Hipolito & Bangkok for Carla Tan

Kenneth & Mae Go is heading to Singapore

Erwin Tan wants to go to Japan. Here with Silk Air’s Day Uyking

Today is the last day of the Davao Mega Travel Sale. Head to Abreeza Mall and book that long desired vacation, or perhaps surprise your lover this Valentine’s Day with a ticket to some romantic destination. Bon voyage!
