Where to take mom on Mother’s Day

REKADO Filipino Comfort Food
1050 Jacinto Extension.

It’s the newest gastronomic destination in Davao and receiving praises with their menu of Filipino comfort food.

REKADO was built to honor the matriarch who started a chain of food outlets in the city. It is just fitting for this new restaurant to open its doors on a special Sunday for the women we adore most.

Mom gets to feast with the brood with the family servings of REKADO’s bestsellers—the Boneless Crsipy Pata, Kalderobo and the special Molo soup.

For mom & the family, RAKADO's bestseller, the Boneless Crispy Pata

Getting high praises from the seafood selection are the Spicy Tuna with Mango, Pesang Lamang Dagat and the Deep Fried Lapu-lapu.

Layered with flavor, the Pesang Lamang Dagat

To sweeten up the gathering, the REKADO desserts of Churros with Malagos Dark Chocolate Dip and the Ube Langka Turon are just the best.

Moms get an extra special treat as well. It will be a delicious surprise.

Bistro Rosario
F. Torres Street

We go to this place for the steak but there’s another good reason to visit the joint (again and again)—their new line of desserts.

Bistro Rosario's new line of rich desserts

Recently launched, the mousse-y desserts of Bistro Rosario are heavenly. A serving of any of the rich desserts can be shared by two (how sweet), more for the 8” sized cake. The texture and the sweetness are perfect. The tangy flavors of the fruit provide a beautiful contrast to the lightly sweetened vanilla mousse, while the chocolate flavors offer a rich dark chocolaty to the decadent dessert.

The tangy flavor of the Calmansi is a nice contrast to the slightly sweetened mousse.

This is where to take mom on Mother’s Day to make her day even more special. More? Give her the Mother’s Day edition of the luscious cakes. The price for any of the desserts is worth it.

Lotus Court & Café Marco
Marco Polo Davao
C.M. Recto Street

Step into Marco Polo Hotel and let mom’s appetite lead her—to the delicious dimsum courses of the Lotus Court or the sumptuous buffet of Café Marco. Either way, mom and the family will enjoy the spread.

Café Marco will be serving their new international dishes (PhP 1,200 nett for Lunch and PhP 1,300 nett for Dinner). Of course, you can’t go wrong with the buffet mainstays like the Roast Beef and the go-to dish of any Pinoy celebration—the lechon.

You may also take the whole family to another level of gastronomic experience at the Lotus Court. Featured dishes are Xiamen and Hong Kong dishes brought in by their guest chefs, Sunny Cheng of Marco Polo Ortigas and Arno Huang of Marco Polo Xiamen. Go for the Salted Egg Squid and the Buchi of course.

Still on top of my list- the Salted Egg Squid at Lotus Court (okay the send, actually, because below is numero uno!)

Sorry, but this trumps everything on Lotus Court's menu.

Moms will also receive one bag holder and a glass of Martini Rose as welcome drink.

Hotel (?) Misto
Seda Abreeza Hotel

I personally love the gastronomic creations of Seda’s Sous Chef Bang Flores. Her food is always exciting. For Mother’s Day Brunch at the hotel’s resto bar, “Hotel Misto” (just found out as per PR it’s what they call it. I like the hotel within the hotel vibe), she will be coming up with a special menu, which will feature “different-from-usual” main courses and desserts. (My maternal instinct wants to take me to this place).

The chef will surprise mom & her family with a "different-from-usual" spread on Mother's Day at Hotel Misto of Seda Abreeza Hotel.

Along with the hotel’s “Delightful MOMents” is their room deal. From May 8 to 12, for only Php 4,000 nett, “Mom and the entire family may enjoy an overnight accommodation in a Deluxe Room with complimentary breakfast.” One complimentary Spa Gift Certificate for the Mom per stay.
