54th Hijos de Davao Primer: The muse, the escort & the best dressed list

The Muse and Her Escort.

The face of the 54th Hijos de Davao is Cecilia P. Reta Cecilia, daughter of Rodolfo Cardoza Reta and Jessieden Pauliño Reta; granddaughter of Cornelio Bangoy Reta Jr. and Rosie Cardoza Reta; and a sixth generation member of the Bangoy-Bustamante-Alzate-Suazo Clan.

Cecilia is in her senior year in high school and looking to pursue Medicine in college.

Since age 12, she’s been actively participating in HdD. She saw how special the civic event is as it brings the Davaoeños together, and It taught her the significance of family ties in the growth of society.

“To be chosen as this year’s muse is an honor and an opportunity to represent my family. I take pride in being a Davaoeña, and Hijos de Davao celebrates Davao heritage and culture. It’s not just a huge gathering for people to dress up, but it’s a reunion of Davaoeños who love their home and share one vision of making Davao beautiful.”

Escorting Cecilia is Brandon Chad Cody Tuano–Gahol, son of Ricardo and Lucille Gahol. He graduated from De La Salle University with a Bachelors of Science in Commerce (BSC) – Applied Corporate Management, and works as a Wealth and Investment Manager at Trust Department of Union Bank.

The Best Dressed List.

How would like to spend a night stay in one of these chic resort/hotel: Pearl Farm Beach Resort, Marco Polo Davao, Waterfront Insular Hotel, Seda Abreeza Hotel or Park Inn by Radisson?

To be glamourous has its rewards. This coming Hijos de Davao gala, you’ll win the admiration (and envy) plus you’ll get to snag one of the prizes mentioned.

I’m looking forward to who will make it to the list this year. The Hijos de Davao went back to its original glamorous way when it marked its 50th year. Since 2014 everyone—the seniors and the younger set, men and women—looked striking in their evening frocks of their chosen designers. It has been a difficult task to narrow the choice to five.

Here are some of the winning looks in the past Hijos de Davao: Ingrid Taojo in Randy Ortiz (53rdHdD 2016), Yvonne Sasin in Aris Escarilla (52ndHdD 2016); Jackie Garcia in John Belandres (51stHdD 2015); Tisha Dominguez in Vania Romoff (50thHdD 2014).

2015 Jackie Garcia in John Belandres, 2016, Yvonne Sasin in Aris Escarilla & Ingrid Taojo in Randy Ortiz

Will you be in the list?
