Cacao Mindanao Chocolate Fair from May 27-29 at SM Lanang Premier




SM Lanang Premier celebrates Davao City’s 1st Anniversary as Chocolate Capital of the Philippines

SM Lanang Premier was joined by seven homegrown chocolatiers in celebrating the first year anniversary of Davao City as the Chocolate Capital of the Philippines.

A three-day chocolate fair participated by chocolatiers Nutrarich, Dais Chocolate, MS3, COSCAO, Don Ricardo’s Chocolate, Cacao de Biao, and Malagos Chocolate including Park Inn by Radisson Davao opened on May 27, at The Atrium, SM Lanang Premier.



In recognition of the booming cacao and chocolate industries in other parts of Mindanao, the Chocolate Fair is simultaneously launched in all SM Supermalls of the island featuring their respective homegrown cacao producers and chocolate makers. This is the first time that SM Supermalls conducts a chocolate fair of this magnitude.

Meanwhile, SM City Davao also features eight more chocolatiers namely Rosario’s, Freefood, El Rey’s Chocolab, Puratos, Valori Food Chocolate, Antipas Chocolate, Auro Chocolate, and Malagos Chocolate.




The three-day activity is in partnership with CIDAMI, the Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, and local government units. Davao City was declared as the Chocolate Capital of the Philippines through the enactment of Republic Act 11547 on May 27, 2021. The same law also declared the entire Davao Region as the Cacao Capital of the Philippines. (PR)
