Samal Island hosts sand sculpture competition 2022







Samal Island recently hosted a sand sculpture competition at the  Beach Park, Kaputian District. It's one of the most anticipated events of the 2022 Summer Saya sa Isla, a program of the City Tourism and Investment Office headed by Ms. Rosabel Jusguan.

Ten teams took part in the competition, each displaying skills in creating art with sand.


Judges Mr. Niṅo Sepulvida & Mr. Noel Daquioag


From the 10 obras, the judges, Mr. Niṅo Sepulvida, Mr. Noel Daquioag and Engr. Guillermo P. Adriatico Jr., awarded the blue ribbon to Island Scrapers Group, winning the team  P 30,000 in cash. ACYS Group came in second (P 20,000) and Tinago Artist team came in third (P 15,000).

The other participants were also awarded with P 5,000 each as consolation prizes.
