MEGAWORLD’s GERI expands hotel portfolio in Boracay Newcoast with Chancellor Hotel Boracay

The 554-suite Chancellor Hotel Boracay brings ‘first-in-Boracay’ room concepts catering mostly to family-oriented travelers

Global-Estate Resorts Inc. (GERI), a subsidiary of property giant Megaworld and the country’s premier developer of integrated tourism and leisure townships, is opening its third hotel development within the 150-hectare Boracay Newcoast in Malay, Aklan.

Strategically located near the exclusive Cove 2 at Boracay Newcoast, the three-cluster Chancellor Hotel Boracay is GERI’s latest island getaway meticulously designed for more family-oriented travelers. The hotel highlights its unique appeal to families traveling together to experience the best of Boracay Island by introducing specially themed kids’ rooms—a first of its kind in the entire island.

Directly connected to adult rooms, these kids’ rooms burst in vibrant and colorful designs and décor— from a pirate ship-themed room, a Peter Pan-themed room, and a 2000 Leagues Under the Sea-themed room—to offer a more playful sanctuary for younger guests. This allows families to enjoy a fun and immersive experience during their stay in Boracay Newcoast.

“We have been seeing a more diverse market for Boracay Newcoast, which is why we are diversifying our hotel offerings to curate unique experiences for every kind of traveler. Whereas our first two hotels, Savoy Hotel Boracay and Belmont Hotel Boracay, target younger, more dynamic guests and business travelers, respectively, we are now opening Chancellor Hotel Boracay as a premier destination that prioritizes family connection and ensures that the fun of Boracay remains accessible, inclusive, and unforgettable for families,” says Maia Israel, area general manager for Boracay Newcoast handling Chancellor Hotel Boracay.

Select Presidential Suites (more than 100 square meters) will also be available for bigger families, while Specially-Abled Suites (46 square meters) offer an ideal and inclusive space for travelers with unique needs. These rooms offer panoramic views of the surrounding sea, the beach, and the vibrant promenade down the street.

Across all three clusters, Chancellor Hotel Boracay features spacious open courtyards on the second-level amenity floor with views oriented towards the sky, the mountains, and the pristine sea. Mindful leisure travelers will also have access to a fitness garden, swimming pool with a wet lounge area and in-pool jacuzzi, as well as the Emerald Spa, where they can enjoy a variety of wellness services. A spacious, open- air landscaped deck located on the third floor featuring unimpeded views of the township and the iconic keyhole can also be converted into a meditation or fitness area for bigger groups.

Chancellor Hotel Boracay has two executive boardrooms to cater to travelers who wish to mix business with leisure and ‘work-from-anywhere’. For those celebrating special milestones in the island, the hotel features the Coconut Palm function room that can accommodate up to 110 people in a theatre setup. The room can be divided into two separate function areas for more intimate celebrations.

“We are continuing our vision of making Boracay Newcoast into a world-class destination that resonates with every type of traveler. By integrating new and exciting concepts like our themed kids’ suites—a trend we have seen from the leading players in the best international markets—we are ensuring that Chancellor Hotel Boracay offers a level of immersive experience that is truly unprecedented on the island,” adds Israel.

With this latest hotel opening, GERI has now launched more than 1,500 hotel rooms in Boracay Newcoast. Chancellor Hotel Boracay is the latest hospitality development to be managed by Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, the country’s biggest hotel operator. Currently, the group operates 14 hotel developments across the country, offering more than 7,300 rooms combined. In the next three years, the group eyes to achieve its target of having more than 9,000 hotel room keys under its portfolio by opening six more hotels in key tourism destinations across the country.
