What I love about Bangkok is it has made commuting from the Suvarnabhumi airport to the city very convenient. Heading to the city hotel, one can take the airport bus (about 150 baht) and will about an hour or so, a cab (about 400-500 baht inclusive of toll fees) and will take around 45 minutes depending on the city traffic, or choose the 30-minute ride via the airport railway link (45 baht to Phay Thai Station) and take the connecting BTS Skytrain ride to the hotel.
I prefer to take the airport link because it is more efficient, faster and void of the infamous Bangkok road traffic jam.
This is why I always prefer to stay in a hotel close to a BTS Station. It makes moving around the city faster.
On a recent trip to Bangkok, I stayed in VIE Hotel a few steps away from the Ratchathewi BTS Station, one stop from the Phaya Thai Station (1 minute ride, 15 baht).
A few meters from the Ratchathewi BTS Station, you'll find this chic hotel.
I was expected. Agoda.com, my travel bible, arranged my stay for the night. I was given Suite 8. Sweet!
And found these welcome stuff.
My home for the night. It opens up to the living area.
I was one lucky b*tch.
