Marks & Spencer (M&S) has a real treat lined up for its customers in the Philippines this June, when it opens its new store in SM Lanang, Davao City with a completely new store format.

Trading across 1,515 square metres, the new format store will provide M&S customers with a new shopping experience – making the store more inviting, inspiring and easy to shop for customers, with an exciting new take on fashion and food displays.

Anthony Tantoco Huang, the Executive Vice President of Stores Specialists Inc. said: “We’re delighted to be opening a brand new store at SM Lanang this June and we are really pleased to have secured such a prime shopping location. Our new displays really showcase the very best of our stylish merchandise and speciality food. We can’t wait for our customers to come and explore our brand new more inviting and inspiring store.”

Stylish fashions

The new store will offer an international shopping experience with an extensive range of high quality, fashions and accessories across womenswear, menswear, lingerie, beauty at great value.

The new format store provides each clothing brand its own distinct look and identity and allows customers to see which brand best meets their personal style preferences. By clearly segmenting each of M&S’s popular clothing sub brands, M&S aims to improve the customer journey through improved navigation, a better store layout and more inspiring in-store customer experiences. This is highlighted for customers through unique branding, visual merchandising kit and propping.

For example, an ethnically casual look for Indigo Collection includes trestle tables and denim mannequins, whilst Autograph is luxurious and sophisticated with a black glass table and grey posed mannequins.

Speciality food

The new format also better highlights M&S’s position as a speciality food retailer. The store will offer a selection of exceptional quality food including groceries, biscuits, confectioneries, savouries and a range of wines.

Marks & Spencer opened its first store in the Philippines in 1992 and will have 21 stores in the country, including the soon-to-open SM Lanang store. Marks & Spencer’s franchise partner, Rustan Marketing Specialists Inc, operates M&S stores in the Philippines and plans to open more stores in the coming years.
