The Mandarin hat for the Viking

Seeing red. Vikings celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival with “Non-traditional Tradition” theme for the whole month of September

After the super moon lit the night brightly making the Mid-Autumn Festival merrier, across the city festivity is far from over. For the entire month of September the Viking is taking off its horned helmet and donning the Mandarin hat instead.

Viking’s Restaurant at the Fountain Court of SM Lanang Premier is taking part in the Mid-Autumn Festival with a ‘Non-tradition tradition” theme and spicing up its Chinese Kitchen with well-loved dishes. “A special menu has been created where the Oriental dishes served on a cycle,” said Arvin Dizon, Viking’s F&B Manager.

The everyday diner will enjoy a different dish with every visit. The Chinese buffet spread will be offering the Chinese Chicken Salad, Cashew Shrimp, Crab in Ginger and Onion, Diced Almond Chicken, Clam with Broccoli, Beef Mushrooms, and many more, alongside the restaurant’s popular Chinese specialties. This is the traditional part of the month’s theme.

Traditional well-loved Chinese dishes will be served on a cycle, among them are the Diced Almond Chicken, Cashew Shrimp & Seafood basket.

As their theme suggests, Vikings is breaking (or should we say, tweaking) a traditional food preparation of this Chinese festival. Veering from the conventional flavor and shape of the mooncake. For their Mid-Autumn Festival dessert offering, Vikings came up with a variety of mooncakes—the Éclair Mooncake, Cheesecake Mooncake and the Durian Mooncake. These non-traditional mooncakes will be offered alongside the traditional Red Bean Moonckae very Saturday and Sunday of September.

Now go ahead and enjoy a month-long Chinese feast at this buffet restaurant. Don the Mandarin hat and eat like a Viking.
