Cheers to the holiday (weight gain)

AS 2015 counts 365 so does my weight. With all the celebrations of good food happening in the city, don’t be surprised I reach that weight. But as long as I enjoyed it, I will gladly accept the inevitable. Let diet top the 2016 resolution list.

Who’s been feeding me?

Park Inn when it presented its Yuletide spread.

Over lunch, the hotel laid out its “Colorful Celebrations” food offerings- Christmas Noche Buena, Countdown to New Year spread and the daily brunch in between the dates.

Expect to see traditional American and Filipino feasts on the table. From ham to lechon, bacon to my all-time favorite “danggit’ (I foresee this as the bestseller), throw in the colorful sweet confection, the week will be a celebration of good tidings and good food.

Fearless forecast- this will be the bestseller on Park Inn's brunch buffet

Seda Abreeza for first dibs on its Holiday feast.

Two function rooms were impressively dressed like it was the eve of the “big day”. From fancy dining table to the buffet set-up, refined was the key word. The food was impeccable, the menu thoughtfully conceived. The dessert presentation looked like it was set up for a food magazine shoot. Expect the same when you celebrate here.

A peek into the elegant spread Seda is preparing for the Holidays

Go for the Seafood Crepe with Lobster Champagne Sauce and the Baked Mussels with Gruyere and Malagos Goat cheeses. The Roast Beef and Christmas Ham looked tasty, I would surely have some—if I eat meat, and of course, there will be lechon, too.

Must try- the Seafood Crepe with Lobster Champagne Sauce

Marco Polo when it lit up its Christmas Tree.

In its usual private way, the hotel’s lighting ceremony was carried out. It’s the country, shabby chic look for the downtown hotel this year.

Evening cocktails followed at the Eagle’s Bar. I single out the Jalapeño-Cheese Fried Spring Rolls, which took away my attention from the rest of the spread. What else was there, I really don’t recall. I’m sure it was all delicious.

Another milestone for Skin Doctors. My favorite derma clinic may have turned 17 but the beautiful women (wo)manning the place never aged a day. Doctors Ma. Pacita Belisario, Ma. Assumpta Cecilia Serrano and Lalaine Rabe-Visitacion are still looking as young as they were when the first clinic opened. They are now joined Dr. Christine Calolot and Dr. Jennifer Aileen Ang-Tangtatco.

Forever young. Doctors Cecil Serano, Lalaine Visitation, Jennifer Tangtatco, Pachot Belisario & Karen Labado at the 17th year anniversary gathering of Skin Doctors Dermatology Laser Center

On the recent celebration, they unveiled another addition to the many firsts they brought to the city. This time it’s the new machines for body aesthetic services and the new house product line called Skin Factor.

Congratulations ladies and enjoy your 5 apples.
