Dear Bottega, your "camel" made me sad.

Finally, I found the camel-colored shoes I want in Bottega Veneta. It must have been fated after I chanced on its website. All the while I thought it would be Gucci. Well, at least its both Italian.

After waiting for months, one good soul brought it home all the way from Texas. I wore the pair as soon as I picked it up (and after eating my words, again, that I will not be a shoe hoarder!).

Uh-oh. Trouble. I feel soreness on the upper part of my heel on the left foot. Blister was forming. Dios Mio!

Feeling the interior of the shoe, I found the source. A single loop of thread protruding from the sewn line. How can such a small thing cause big damage. It's so "The Princess and the pea".

What to do....what to do.....

It's too much of a hassle to send it back to the US. Will the Bottega Veneta in Manila (part of Rustan's) be able to help at all?

I will write to Bottega Veneta first and see what happens....
Dear Bottega.......

Updates soon!  Will publish their reply here. (Nice peg for a story on my newspaper column, don't you think?)

Shopping for shoes on-line has its pros and cons. Forrest Gump's proverbial "Life is a box of chocolates. You'll never know what you're gonna get" is applicable. Most especially if it's the first pair you're buy from a certain brand. In my case, it's Bottega Veneta. I've never had problems with the Gucci and Prada pairs. Maybe because my feet have fallen in love with them for the longest time. I guess not all Italian shoe brands are created equal.

The return policy holds, of course. But not if you're thousands of miles away from where you ordered it and where you had it delivered, that poses as a problem.

Now, isn't this the color of lemon?
