OCTOBER 13-26 : Chinese Painting Exhibit & Workshop @ SM Lanang Premier

Over a hundred original scrolled Chinese artworks and Chinese paintings on Chinese fans -- a first in the Philippines -- will be on display at the SM Lanang Premier mall's atrium from October 13 to 26.

“We welcome the Chan Lim Family of Artists & Students' Chinese & Western Painting Exhibit to our newest pride in Mindanao -- SM Lanang Premier. The group is the very first featured artists to showcase their artistic talent and also share them to Davaoenos in a free workshop on October 13," said SM Prime Holdings president Hans T. Sy.

The exhibit will also feature the original western paintings of CHAN LIM family patriarch, Jose Lim. A prolific painter for over 50 years, Lim is recognized as one of the country’s master Chinese calligraphy artists.

To share their talent, a free Chinese painting workshop will be conducted by the artists beside the exhibit at the mall’s Atrium from 4 to 7PM on October 13. Interested parties may contact the organizers, Davao Dynamic Youth, at (082) 226-3171 or (082) 221-6004 for more details.

At least 20 of the exhibited Chinese paintings on Chinese Fans shall be donated to the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) which, in turn, shall be sold to the public to help their conservation efforts in ensuring the survival of the endangered Philippine Eagle.

"The exhibit offers the rare pleasure of enjoying Chinese artwork crafted using ancient hand-painting techniques while taking part in a global cause to save Philippine Eagles from extinction. Arts and philanthropy are powerful inspirations for humanity and so PEF is very happy to be a part of this initiative," says Dennis J.I. Salvador, Philippine Eagle Foundation’s Executive Director.

Donations to the Philippine Eagle Foundation are welcome. PEF's contact numbers are (082) 271-2337 or (082) 284-0568. (PR).
