Agnes Locsin’s latest obra maestra, Sanga: Ang Ika-apat na Galaw, is not only poetry in motion, it is poetry PLUS motion. The homegrown talent who has become one of the country’s geniuses in the art of ballet showcases another tour de force as the latest addition to the series “Alay sa Puno” which took root in 2010 with “Ugat: Ang Unang Galaw.”

Working closely with Agnes to deliver her fourth movement’s message of “take care of me and I will take care of you” is Biag Gaongen as the featured choreographer, who was the principal dancer in “Ugat”, and UP professor and award-winning poet Ricardo de Ungria performing poetry.

On the opening night, aficionados of all ages trooped to the theater hall of the Locsin Dance Studio and filled the venue to capacity.

From the roots to the branches today, Davao witnessed another stirring masterpiece by the creative artist.
Maybe in the future the tree will bear fruits, and that’s something to look forward to. If it does, expect more magic from Agnes Locsin and her ode to the tree.
Sanga will be on its final performance today, August 25, Sunday, 7 p.m., at the Locsin Dance Studio Theater along Quirino Avenue, Davao City.
